5th Sunday of Lent: Entrance Antiphon

Psalm 43:1-2

Give me justice, O God,
and plead my cause against a nation that is faithless.
From the deceitful and cunning rescue me,
for you, O God, are my strength.
(Psalm 43:1-2)

Verse 1:

Why have you cast me off? And why do I go sorrowful
while the enemy afflicts me?
(Psalm 43:2)

Verse 2:

O send forth your light and your truth;
let them lead me, let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
(Psalm 43:3)

Verse 3:

To you, O God, my God, I will give praise upon the harp.
Why are you sad, O my soul? And why do you sigh within me?
(Psalm 43:4-5)

Verse 4:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
(Gloria Patri)
