Palm Sunday: Entrance Antiphon

Matthew 21:9

Hosanna to the Son of David,
the King of Israel.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Verse 1:

Six days before the Passover when the Lord came into the city of Jerusalem,
The children ran to meet him.

Verse 2:

In their hand they carried palm branches
and with a loud voice cried out:
(John 12:13)

Verse 3:

O gates, lift high your heads; grow higher ancient doors.
Let him enter, the King of Glory!
(Psalm 24:9)

Verse 4:

Who is this King of Glory? He, the Lord of hosts,
he is the King of Glory.

Verse 5:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
