3rd Sunday of Lent: Communion Antiphon

John 4:14

When the Gospel of the Samaritan Woman is read:

For anyone who drinks it, says the Lord,
the water I shall give will become in him a spring
welling up to eternal life.
(John 4:14)

Verse 1:

O God, my God, to you do I watch at break of day.
for you my soul has thirsted,
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where no water is.
(Psalm 63:2-3)

Verse 2:

Thus will I bless you all my life long,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
(Psalm 63:5)

Verse 3:

For you are my help, and I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me.
(Psalm 63:8-9)

Verse 4:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
(Gloria Patri)
