Lyrics / Letras

Moses prayed in the sight of the Lord his God, and said:
Why, O Lord, is your indignation kindled against your people?
Let the anger of your mind cease;
remember Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
to whom you swore to give a land flowing with milk and honey.
And the Lord was appeased from doing the evil
which he had spoken of doing against his people.
(Exodus 32:11,12,13,14)

Verse 1:

The Lord spoke to Moses:
You have found grace in my sight and I know you above all others.
And Moses, making haste, bowed down prostrate unto the earth,
and adoring, said:
I know that you show mercy unto thousands,
taking away our iniquity and our sins.
(Dixit Dominus ad Moysen)

Verse 2:

Moses and Aaron spoke to all the multitude of the children of Israel:
Draw near before God;
the majesty of the Lord has appeared in the cloud,
and he has heard your murmuring in the time of temptation.
(Dixit Moses et Aaron)

Verse 3:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
(Gloria Patri)
