Progress on The Modern Psalmist
As of the first of the year, I’ve finally been able to dedicate a significant portion of my time to really focus on developing The Modern Psalmist and make it into the amazing tool that I know it can be. I’m slowly but surely building a team of passionate songwriters, musicians, music curators, bloggers, translators, and developers to realize this vision.
This past year I have had so many ups and downs, especially losing my dad suddenly last summer, and then finding out out that I’m pregnant with my first child (due in June)… All after having some great success with my latin band Bohemian Insurgence last Spring… It’s been a year of some major transitions.
But our God makes all things new, right? As he promises:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
And despite some major life changes for me, The Modern Psalmist is still growing and moving forward. And I’ve been blessed to be able to fund the entire thing myself thus far, as I await for tax-exempt status from the IRS. I really want to keep the vast majority of the site’s functionality completely free, and I hope to be able to eventually ask for tax-deductible monetary support from other passionate musicians and supporters of Catholic Innovation and Arts.
I know that 2020 is already shaping up to be the BEST year. We expect to have the site fully functional by the fall, just in time for Advent preparation. Please be sure to sign up for our updates and don’t hesitate to give any suggestions on how to make The Modern Psalmist better!
